Memorial list of directors of the Allgemeine Krankenhaus (AKH) 1784–1989

The memorial in the stairwell of the Stöckel building (2nd floor in front of the ballroom) in courtyard 1 of the campus (former directorate building) lists all the directors of the General Hospital from its foundation in 1784 to its relocation to the new AKH in 1995 and the transformation of the old hospital site into the campus of the University of Vienna.

At the request and expense of the AKH Medical Directorate, the original marble plaque for the last director of the old AKH and at the same time the first director of the new AKH (1989-2014) was extended at the old location in spring 1998, when the relocation of the clinics to the new AKH had already been completed several years earlier (status: 2014).
